Hilliard Davidson Soccer

Terry Smith  - Head Boys Soccer Coach

Coach Terry Smith believes that team success is built behind hard work and dedication. Soccer is first mental, second heart, and third physical.  With the talent of the kids, support of the parents, community and the school, as well as a great coaching staff, a championship can be reached.  This honor was certainly achieved by Coach Smith and his 2007 Hilliard Davidson Varsity team when they defeated Massillon Jackson for the Division I State Championship.  In addition, Coach Smith received the Central Ohio Excellence in Sportsmanship Boys Soccer Coach Award for the 2009 season.

Smith coached as Davidson’s JV coach for 1999 and 2000, as the Varsity Assistant for 2001 and 2002, and then began as the Boys Soccer Head Coach in 2003. As Davidson's Head Coach, his record since 2003 is 106-47-34 (as of end of  2011 season). Smith was named OCC Coach of the YEAR in 2006 and 2008. Along with the STATE CHAMPIONSHIP, his teams have achieved 1 Regional Championship, 1 Regional Finalist, 1 Regional Semifinalist, 3 District Championships, 1 District Finalist, 2 District Semifinalist and 2 OCC Championships.  Off the field the standard of excellence is still met with one of the soccer players being name the valedictorian in 2007, 97% of the players making academic  honors, and the team being selected with an all-academic honor in 2005, 2006, 2008.
